MARLBOROUGH HOSPITAL BOARD OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS WAIRAU HOSPITAL - BLENHEIM APPLICATIONS ARE SOUGHT from New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapists, preferably with some experience, for full time positions at Wairau Hospital. One position (Vacancy No. 9/14) is for the Assessment and Rehabilitation Service and covers inpatient, day patient and outpatient care. The other position (Vacancy No. 9/15) covers the acute medical and surgical v/ards, the coronary rehabilitation programme, geriatric programmes and a programme for developmentally delayed children. NELSON HOSPITAL BOARD SPECIALIST GERIATRIC PHYSICIAN OR MEDICAL OFFICER APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED from Specialist Geriatric Physicians or Medical Officers with an interest and experience in Geriatrics, to provide overall direction and supervision of the Board’s Geriatric Services. Beds are available for assessment and rehabilitation and the Board is currently planning a new 35 bed assessment and rehabilitation unit for the Service. This unit is the Board’s first priority in its development programme. The Board is also planning the complete replacement of its long stay geriatric/psyco geriatric beds. The Geriatrician would be expected to be fully involved in these projects. The Nelson Hospital Board serves a population of 67,000 and has a 300 bed General Hospital, 430 bed Psychiatric and 180 bed psychopaedic hospitals. There are three small Country Hospitals with some geriatric beds. Nelson City in the north of the South Island is known for its excellent climate, extensive cultural, recreational and sporting activities. WELLINGTON HOSPITAL BOARD CYTOLOGY UNIT DIVISION OF ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF LABORATORY SERVICES WELLINGTON HOSPITAL APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for the post of CHARGE CYTOTECHNOLOGIST in the Department of Laboratory Services at Wellington Hospital. This is a senior technical post in the N.Z. Hospital Service. Applications for this post should have a minimum of ten years’ experience covering all aspects of medical cytology, hold an additional qualification such as CT (lAC) and have a background and interest in training programmes for cytotechnologists. The Cytology Unit provides a comprehensive cytodiagnostic service, including FNA and cytochemical techniques, and the successful applicant would be expected to be competent in these areas of cytodiagnostic work. The Cytology Unit is headed by a Cytopathologist, to whom the appointee will be responsible, and is situated in a department with excellent working conditions.
