Bible training
Sir,—A. Delhanty’s suggestion (“The Press,” May 21), that young convicted criminals should be sentenced to a term of “Bible training,” is truly dazzling. It seems that lashings of Leviticus and short sharp doses of Revelations would soon stop the blighters slouching. Difficulties would arise of course, in avoiding the charge of “inflicting cruel and unusual punishments.”— Yours, etc., DAVID SHANKS. May 21, 1985.
