Ski-ing conditions

Mount Hutt and the Fox Glacier are both now open for ski-ing, according to a report issued yesterday by the New Zealand Snow Centre.

Fox Glacier reports 30cm of dry, light powder on a firm 300 metre base. Both ski plane and helicopter will be operating. The ski-ing is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers. At Mount Hutt there is 6cm of fresh snow on a 25cm base. The platters and learners’ lifts are operating and conditions are reported as ideal for beginners to intermediates. Chains are required.
