Man. United thrashed

NZPA-Reuter London Manchester United, which takes on Everton in the Football Association (F.A.) Cup final at Wembley this week-end, crashed 5-1 to Watford in its final English first division match of the season yesterday. Nigel Callaghan shot Watford in front after 10 minutes and added a second

four minutes later. A thirtythird minute goal from Colin West made it 3-0 at half-time and the England striker, Luther Blissett, got a fourth in the sixty-sixth minute. Two minutes later Blissett was stretchered off with concussion and taken to hospital after colliding with United goalkeeper Gary Bailey.

Kenny Jackett got Watford’s fifth goal 15 minutes from time, with Kevin Moran netting for United in the last minute. The defeat left United in second place in the table, but both Tottenham and Liverpool can overtake it. Watford completes its league programme at thirdplaced Liverpool on Friday.
