Betty Ford life story on TV
NZPA-AP New York
Betty Ford followed her husband to the White House, but her life story is coming to television first.
ABC says the former First Lady’s autobiography, “Times of My Life,” is being developed as a television movie.
David Wolper, executive producer of “Roots” and the “Thorn Birds,” has acquired the rights to the book, which includes Mrs Ford’s battles with breast cancer and alcoholism.
The book also details her early years, her romance with the football star, Gerald Ford, her years as a congressional wife, and the period before, during and after her 1970 s White House residency.
