Self-defence suggested
PA Auckland Compulsory self-defence courses should be considered for school physical education programmes to beat rape and violent crime, the president of the Social Credit Party, Mr Stefan Lipa, has said. The possibility of subsidised self-defence for women and schoolchildren should be investigated by a
Royal Commission on rape and violent crime, he said. Men and women could benefit from awareness courses to see the effect that sex role stereotyping had on behaviour, he said. A commission could examine the treatment raped women received from the authorities, sexual harassment in the workplace, and licensed prostitution, he said.
