Soapies off for holidays

Television One’s afternoon soap operas will be off the screen for the two weeks of the May school holidays which start on Monday. They will be replaced by movies screening at 12.35 p.m. each week-day, starting on Monday with “Doctor At Large” made in 1957 and starring Dirk Bogarde. On Tuesday is “Tea For Two” (1950) starring Doris Day, then on Wednesday it

is “The Far Country” (1955) starring James Stewart. “June Bride” (1948) starring Bette Davis screens on Thursday and on Friday it is "Raiders Of The Seven Seas,” (1963) with Donna Reed.

Another school holiday change will see the “After School” children’s programmes going under the name of “Free Time” and being hosted by the singer and actress, Suzanne Lee.
