Coast flood warning

Greymouth reporter

Farmers in the extremities of South Westland were warned yesterday to move stock from low-lying areas. The Westland Catchment Board was told by the Weather Office yesterday that 200 mm of rain could be expected in the high country from Hokitika south, and principally in the area south of the glaciers to Fiordland. About 100 mm could be expected along the coastline. Heavy rain fell in South Westland yesterday, but in the north only occasional, light showers were experienced.
