UPI reprieve
A bankruptcy court judge in Washington has approved an interim financing agreement which would enable United Press International to continue operations and pay salary cheques which bounced last week. But the Federal bankruptcy judge, Mr George Bason, refused to consider immediately the issue of ownership and possible sale of the 78-year-old news agency, which filed for protection under the bankruptcy code last Sunday.
