Company to buy two more planes
PA Wellington The Nelson-based Air Albatross, which flies three Metroliner aircraft, plans to buy two more in response to increasing demand, said the marketing director, Mr David Buck, yesterday. The new aircraft, costing more than $1 million each, would be bought from an Australian airline to boost existing services and start new ones, said Mr Buck. The airline had averaged 52 per cent passenger capacity in April, making it the nation’s third-largest passenger carrier behind Air New Zealand and Mount Cook Airlines, he said.
