PA Ashburton The Licensing Trusts Association wants a representative on the working party which will look into the recently announced Sale of Liquor Act review, it was decided at the association’s annual conference which began in Ashburton yesterday. The Minister of Justice, Mr Palmer, has directed that a working party be set up with a possible two years allowed for its work. The Sale of Liquor Act review has been given preference over the review of the Licensing Trust Act. In his report to the conference yesterday, the assocation’s president, Mr Keith, Eddy, said Mr Palmer had said the act was "a jungle” and very complicated. “Very few would disagree with that statement, particularly those who have to work within its framework,” he said. “Without being at all cynical, liquor and its controls are a world-wide problem, and pleasing everybody in this vexed area has proved impossible.”
