Exciting tennis
A prolonged third set tiebreaker which went to 20 points provided an exciting climax to the 18 years boys’ doubles at the Coca-Cola Easter tennis tournament at Wilding Park. The favourites, Greg Young and John Honeywell, eventually wore down Jeffrey Brightwell and Hamish Jamieson to win by 11 points to nine. three games in the match. The third-seeded Andrew Batie recovered from a first set deficit to beat Scott Hanna, seeded third, in the 16 years boys’ singles final.
