Possible identity

The body found on the beach at South New Brighton on March 1 might be that of a man who disappeared from his Christchurch address, in January, say the Christchurch police. Mark Bottomley, aged 26, has not been seen since about January 19. Anyone with information about his disappearance is asked to get in touch urgently with Constable Edward Donnelly, of the Christchurch police inquest office.

Mr Bottomley is described as 172 cm tall, of slight build, fair complexion, with blond to brownish hair.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing black tracksuit trousers, a brown shirt, and blue running shoes. The Christchurch Coroner, Mr A. N. Mac Lean, will hold an inquest on April 22 into the death of the man whose body was found on the beach.
