Bus services
Sir,—l was amazed to read in “The Press” of April 10 that Nga rimu Street residents are complaining about too many buses passing through their area. As I often travel along Woodham Road, I had noted that Gayhurst Road, Ngarimu Street, Worcester Street extension and Kerrs Road, (all within walking distance of each other), a distance of 3.5 centimetres on the map, were all served by buses. Yet in Breezes Road from Pages Road to Cuthberts Road (4 centimetres on the map), there has been no bus service in 25 years, despite requests to the Transport Board. Who I wonder is responsible for such planning? Where is the justice, when we all pay through our rates for the service. I am sure that many a weary person who walks this part of Breezes Road every day would be glad of the surplus service rejected by the Dallington patrons.—Yours, etc., J. LOMBARD. April 10, 1985.
