Hospital fires charges
PA Wellington A young man has been arrested after an attempted arson at Wellington Hospital yesterday. The man, aged 19, an unemployed kitchen hand, will appear in the District Court in Wellington today. The police said he would face charges relating to fires at the hospital A fire was found in a ground-floor toilet rubbish bin at the ward services block about 9.30 a.m. yesterday. A nurse was able to give the police a description of a man she saw near the toilets shortly before the fire.
The arson attack was the seventh at the hospital this month.
Detective Inspector Martin Sears said the police were no longer seeking anyone in connection with the other hospital fires.
