Expedition in December
Miss Julie Hale, of Blenheim, a member of the Royal New Zealand Corps of Transport, has been chosen to take part in the Operation Raleigh expedition in Chile later this year.
A caption printed in “The Press” yesterday incorrectly indicated that Miss Hale had already joined the expedition.
Miss Hale, who is also a part-time nurse, will fly to Chile on December 19 this year, where she will work with doctors and scientists for three months.
Operation Raleigh is a four-year, round-the-world expedition for international youth, entailing 16 threemonth phases in host countries.
