Both teams uncertain

NZPA Port of Spain, Trinidad The two teams for the first test between New Zealand and the West Indies at Queens Park Oval here today (2 a.m. NZ tomorrow) are still uncertain as injuries are worrying both camps. Opener Ron Hart is still limping with a bruised toe, but he would probably not be in contention after fellow newcomer Ken Rutherford scored an unbeaten century in the three day match last weekend.

But niggling injuries to two important bowlers, Lance Cairns, and Stephen Boock are causing some concern in the New Zealand

camp. Cairns was suffering from a torn neck muscle but declared himself fit for yesterday’s washed out second one-day international.

Otago left-arm spinner, Stephen Boock, who Cameron considers a good wickettaker, has been suffering from a sore left shoulder since pulling it during a practice session in Jamaica. The batsmen pick themselves, with Hart the man missing out, but the bowling is less clear cut. The West Indies named a squad of 13 earlier in the week and were waiting to see if fast bowler Malcolm Marshall and opening batsman Gordon Greenidge were fit to play.
