Wage rise of 7.8 p.c.
About 15,000 tearooms and restaurant workers throughout New Zealand will get a wage rise of 7.8 per cent from March 1, following the settlement of theiitc award in Christchurch on Thursday. The award will have a 12month term. Allowances will be increased 7.02 per cent. Bereavement leave will be extended to include grandparents and grandchildren.
