Huge action against state

NZPA-AP Meadville, Pennsylvania A man who is suing for five quadrillion dollars, in American terms, over a suspended driver’s licence said yesterday he was willing to settle out of court. “I’m willing to sit down and negotiate this thing and not go to court,” said Frank Messina of Centerville.

Messina, an unemployed sawmill worker, filed a lawsuit in the Venango countycourt clerk’s office on February 14 against the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and three of its top officials for $U55,764,609,563,143,700.48.

That is five quadrillion, 764 trillion, 609 billion, 563 million, 143 thousand, 700 dollars and 48 cents.

“I’ve been fighting it for 10 years, and I’m getting tired of getting stopped by state police and having them write me up,” he said. Messina said his driver’s licence was suspended immediately after a car accident in Venango county in 1973. He said his licence was reissued in 1975, but the state Transportation Department claimed it was suspended again in September of that year. However, Messina claims he never received notification of the suspension.
