No short stock in 17th tender
PA Wellington The S4OOM on offer in the Reserve Bank’s seventeenth stock tender on February 14 will not offer any shortdated stock. The bank says short stock has not been offered in this tender because of “a strongly stated preference by the market for longerdated stock.” Of the offer, SIOOM will mature in three years 10 months, and two SISOM
blocks are offered with maturities of five years one month, and nine years eight months.
“The amount of S4OOM in this tender is consistent with the Government’s stated intention of late last year to seek SI6OOM in stock tenders over the final four months of the fiscal year,” the bank said in a statement yesterday. The eighteenth tender will be held on March 21.
