River proposals passed
Wellington reporter Proposals for extra erosion protection works on the north bank of the Waimakaririri River, at a total estimated cost of $545,000, have been approved by the National Water. and Soil Conservation Authority. The proposals came from the North Canterbury Catchment Board, as part of the Waimakariri River Improvement Scheme embarked upon in 1960. This takes the total estimated cost to $6,042,000.
