Air N.Z. talks on

PA Wellington Air New Zealand cabin crew have lifted their threat of industrial action. The advocate for the Airline Stewards and Hostesses’ Union, Mr Rob Campbell, said a new company offer had been put before the union on Tuesday. The union wants to amalgamate the domestic and international crews’ awards. “What we are looking at is setting up a working committee with three representatives on both sides to

look at the new position,” Mr Campbell said. The union served 14 days notice of industrial action on the airline on February 1.

Mr Campbell said there had been a clear indication by the company at Tuesday’s meeting that it had moved much closer to the union’s position. “On the basis of that we have lifted the notice of stoppage action. The union will make a reassessment of the situation by February 23,” Mr Campbell said.
