Christchurch’s oldest practising solicitor, Mr Leonard Joseph Hunter Hensley, aged 81, yesterday moved the admission of his grandson, Mr Gerald Austen Joseph Hensley, aged 22, to the Bar of the High Court of Christchurch. Mr Justice Holland presided. The new solicitor’s father, Mr Gerald Hensley, sen., is the permanent head of the Prime Minister’s Department. His maternal grandfather, Mr R. A. Young, was admitted to the Christchurch Bar in April, 1932.
