Astrologers predict assassinations
NZPA-AFP New York United States astrologers are predicting a wave of assassination attempts in 1985 against President Reagan, the British Prime Minister. Mrs Margaret Thatcher, the British Royal Family, and Pope John Paul 11. They also foresee a new leader in Moscow, and an above-average number of disasters. Two of the best known United States soothsayers, Jeane Dixon and M.A. Smolin, agree that terrorism will threaten many leaders, and warn President Reagan of danger at January’s inaugural ceremony in Washington for his second term. The United States Secret Service will foil this assassination plot, they said, but there would be a more dangerous one a few months later. The weekly “National Examiner,” a supermarket ta-
bloid whose staple, among others, is speculative articles on celebrities’ love lives, predicted a second assassination attempt on the Pope.
American astrologers also foresee family problems for the Royal Family, with Prince Philip worried over the marital situation of Princess Anne and Prince Charles being harassed by a dangerous criminal who will be arrested at the end of the year.
According to another prediction, Princess Diana will emerge triumphantly from stormy family quarrels, mainly over the education of Prince Henry. On the international front, the health of the Soviet President, Mr Konstantin Chernenko, will deteriorate so badly that he will be forced to resign and there will be a merciless struggle for power, according to one prediction.
The weekly magazine, “Horoscope,” said the stars were not favourable for West Germany’s Chancellor, Mr Helmut Kohl, who might
have to resign, or for President Mitterrand of France. The French Government, according to Mr Smollin, will have to face growing unrest which will turn into violence in 1985. Some other predictions from the seers were: • A solar eclipse on November 12, 1985, will cause social unrest in Britain and Canada. • An incipient thaw between the Super-Powers will wither away and nuclear arms negotiations will come to a halt over events in Central America. O President Fidel Castro will attempt to invade a Caribbean island, but a storm will prevent him from doing so. ® Princess Caroline of Monaco will divorce her Italian husband, while her sister, Princess Stephanie, will be involved in several scandals. • Rock star Michael Jackson will give up singing after being almost smothered by fans, and • A cure will be found for baldness.
