Folder to help local goods sell overseas
A promotional folder that can be used to help sell local goods and services overseas has been produced by the Canterbury Development Corporation. Companies, individuals, and organisations, such as the Chamber of Commerce or United Council, can add information to the folder before sending or taking it to overseas clients. A window in the “Enterprise In Canterbury” cover allows individual logos and names to be highlighted. The Development Corporation’s name does not appear on the outside or inside of
the folder, except on an insert sheet describing its aims. The promotional folders and insert material are being sold by the Development Corporation. “The aim is to make it totally user-oriented,” said the Development Corporation’s chief executive, Mr Doug Kerr, yesterday. He said that the folder itself would not date, and inserts could be changed. Information about such things as shipping schedules had been photocopied on to printed maps so it could be changed.
The folder includes general information about Christchurch and New Zealand, along with information about advantages of running a business in Canterbury.
Inserts include facts about the airport and the Lyttelton Harbour Board, the region’s population and labour force, North Canterbury output and employment figures, labour cost comparisons, Canterbury’s record of technological innovation, production cost comparisons with Australia and overseas investment in New Zealand.
