Twenty artists

The Brooke/Gifford Gallery has an impressive lineup of New Zealand artists featured in its Christmas exhibition. Among the 20 artists to take part in the show are Don Binney, Nigel Brown, Pat Hanly, Brent Wong, Bill Sutton, Ralph Hotere and Terry Stringer. Each of the artists have contributed two works for the show, which opened yesterday.

The director of the gallery, Judith Gifford, said she asked each of the artists to keep their contributions “smallish” so she could fit them all into the gallery. All of the artists exhibit in the Brooke/Gifford Gallery when they do a show in Christchurch, she said. Also featured in the exhibition is work by Tracey Wilson, who just graduated from the University of Canterbury’s School of Fine Arts.
