Ban until February imposed
I. W. Craw was suspended until after February 4 and fined $lOO for careless driving in the Scotch Tar Trot at Addington Raceway on Saturday. Craw, the driver of Sure Court, was found- guilty of causing interference to McQueen and others with 1800 m to run.
Peter Jones, the driver of Novander, suffered tom ligaments in an ankle and will be away from driving for six to eight weeks. lan Keith, the driver of McQueen, suffered shoulder injuries in the accident Robin Butt, the driver of Lady El in the Keighley’s Timber Pace, was warned of his obligations in having his horse at the mobile arm at the starting point. Lady El was slow to settle in the run-up and was some distance from the mobile arm at the start. Soon after the start Richina went off-stride, causing a check to Lady El. Allan Devery was questioned about the performance of the favourite, Ran Tan, in the Shell Oil Canterbury Pace. Devery said the horse had been working well and had only five race starts in a short time. He told the judicial panel that tie intended to spell the horse. ,_. .. The connections of Lightning Bolt were informed That a veterinary clearance must be produced before the horse races again.
