Holes and sponsors
One of the most pleasing aspects of this year’s Garden City Golf Classic, sponsored by “The Press”, was the willingness of Christchurch business firms to sponsor holes. . All holes had been sponsored well ahead of schedule, with most previous sponsors continuing their generous support and new sponsors being readily found to replace those who withdrew. At a cocktail party for sponsors at the Harewood Golf Club last month a draw was held for holes on the two Harewood courses.
