Century scored in Ellesmere cricket
An unbeaten 107 by Andrew McDonald (Lincoln) highlighted the second day of the second round in the Ellesmere senior cricket. competition. McDonald’s maiden century enabled Lincoln to gain maximum points and to head , the points table. David Lancaster, with 70 mot out, and Simon Hilmore, with an unbeaten 46, saved Springston from defeat against Lincoln High School. The two outstanding bowling performances came from Steve Ryan (Tai Tapu), who took five for 15, and Paul. Ridden (Leeston), who bowled very accurately for his eight for 14. Points.—Lincoln 36, Dunsandel 35, Leeston 25, Southbridge A 22, Tai Tapu 21, Springston 19, Lincoln High School - 11, : Southbridge B 5, Burnham 4, Weedons 4. Scores: Southbridge B 116 and 129 (C. Smith 20, A. Campion 48; K. Reilly 2/25, D. Scott 2/20, S Jones 3/30, B. Harkness 2/29) lost to Dunsandel 157/3 declared and 99/1 (R. Saunders 28, B. Davidson 43). Lincoln 138 and 192/3 declared (A. McDonald 107 not out, M. Allen 38, W. Scott 33) beat Weedons 98 and 131 (J. Wilson 54; A. Carver 4/31, A. McDonald 4/13). Springston 129 and 225/4 declared (D. Lancaster 70 not out, S. Gilmore 46 not out, B. Guthrie 28, G. Jones 32) drew with Lincoln High School 179/5 and 132/6 (C. Mcßride 22, G.
