Budget ‘slap in face’
PA Wellington The unemployed workers and beneficiaries’ movement, Te Roopu Rawakore O Aoteoroa, wants an urgent meeting with the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, to discuss what it says is the Budget’s failure to supply any realistic support for he unemployed.
A spokesman for the group, Ms Jane Stevens, said that the Budget was “a slap in the face for unemployed people,” especially after the concern expressed at the recent Economic Summit Conference. She said this year would bring another “bleak Christfor the unemployed.
