Three Mimes
Opening tomorrow is an evening of New Zealand drama at the Blue Ladder Theatre in Cashel Street. “Three Mimes” by James K. Baxter is performed by Andrew Bancroft, the photographer in the last production of “Eiffel Tower. Wedding Party.” These mimes are essential to a complete understanding of Baxter’s psychology and theology.
The other play is by local playwright, Steve Harris, ■ and deals with the subject of memory. Two characters reminisce over their upbringing in Timaru with quite different results. Music will be provided by John Chrisstoffels, and a song written for this production will be performed by the director, Bill Direen. The evening is entitled, “Downhome Holidays.”
