Bronze Valley works in style

Special correspondent Palmerston North

The Awapuni galloper Bronze Valley, looks ideally placed to score a well overdue win in the Lion Brown Cup at the Otaki meeting tomorrow. His work on the track yesterday morning indicates he is as well as can be for the event. All work was on the plough which was in good order but not conducive to fast times.

Bronze Valley galloped in his best style when partnering stablemate Mussella over 1000 m in a smart Imin 2.25, the last 600 m in 38.75. o He will again be ridden by Paul Goss. Mussella will contest the Lion Red Handicap and it could be an auspicious double for the Margaret Bull stable. Go Mamma is another for the same event and in company with Quite Regal ran 1000 m in Imin 7.25, the final 600 m in 41.25.

Flying Tui, a candidate for the Night Eruption Handicap, the second leg of the T.A.B. double, worked with the highweight candidate, Barcas Bill, over 1200 m in 1:19.5, the last 600 m in 425.

This was in keeping with his 7. usual strong workouts. Lin Row and Noble Veil, members of Alan Kaye’s >. team, took Imin 21s for their 1200 m, the final 600 m /«. in 41s. Mr Trick, freshened since last racing, looked ,J. bright in preparing for a summer campaign. First Note, a leading prospect for Awapuni, the Te Horo Handicap, ran 1000 m in Imin 7s, the last 600 m in 40.85. She is very well. Hasty Kaye, which also contests the Te Horo ;<• took Imin 18.8 s in company with Janelie, the last 600 m .?■ in 395. . \- Linden Row is also en- .’ gaged in the Te Horo Handi- r“ cap and she ran alone over '' 800 m in 53.15, the last 600 m in 39.45.
