Portrait unveiled

A portrait of the ViceChancellor of the University of Canterbury, Professor A. D. Brownlie, was unveiled at the university yesterday. The potrait was a gift from the artist, Bill Sutton. Mr Sutton taught at the School of Fine Arts for 30 years and has painted portraits of all four of the university’s Vice-Chancel-lors. It was decided at a meeting of the University Council yesterday to commission Mr Sutton to paint a selfportrait. This will be hung in the School of Fine Arts.
