Woman dies aged 102
PA Nelson One of Nelson’s oldest residents, Mrs Marie Wilshere, died on Tuesday. She was 102. Mrs Wilshere was born in Allenay in the Somme district of France. She came to Auckland as a war bride in 1920 with her English husband, Mr Harry Wilshere. She was widowed in 1934 and remained in Auckland until she moved to Nelson in 1964 to live with her daughter. She celebrated her 102nd birthday on May 15.
