Nuclear dilemma

Sir, — When Mark Sadler (October 31) has read the evidence about America’s policies written since the Vietnam War and published by the Institute for Policy Studies, Penguin, the Bertrand Russell Foundation, the South End Press, the “Monthly Review,” (New York, London) “The Press,” John Calder, etc., etc., he may have the knowledge and grace to apologise for his gratuitous insult to those informed (not Left-wing, informed) members of the Labour Party who are as aware of the doings of the American military-industrial-political complex as they are of the dangers of Labour Party alliances with communism. Like him, I have advocated single-item reductions of Soviet and American nuclear arsenals. Does that make him a brainless twit too? Or me less one? My own preference is for non-align-ment, defensive (instead of offensive) armament, peace and above all, justice. — Yours, etc., SUSAN TAYLOR. October 31, 1984.
