SHELLY GOUDREAU RATED N.Z. BASED SIRE “THE BEST” Trainer/driver Shelly Goudreau (driver of the winners of over SUSIO million) felt before ' the Woodrow Wilson that he had. the top 2 year old in the country. Apollo’s Way finished fourth in that race after racing in heavy traffic almost all the way. Shelly Goudreau stated that near the end Apollo’s Way broke free and was flying. He said "with just a quarter mile to go, he was still eighth; at the top of the stretch he was seventh; over seven lengths behind the leader; at the end, he was beaten by just a length and a half, pacing his last quarter in 28 seconds after being parked every step of the way.” Goudreau stated later, prior to the Kentucky Derby, "my cott is the best and he will win the Kentucky Pacing Derby. He won ths Hoosier Futurity at Indianapolis in straight heats over an off track and came back last week to easily win the second Pacing Derby elimination heat in 1:58.4(h)."
