NZPA staff correspondent Colombo New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second one-day cricket international at the Moratuwa Tyronne Fernando Stadium yesterday.

New Zealand scored 118 for three with nine overs to spare in reply to Sri Lanka’s 114 for nine. Martin Crowe scored 52 in 85 minutes and shared a partnership of 79 with John Reid to guide New Zealand to victory.
