Harrison, Cate out

PA Auckland Earl Harrison and Paul Cate have been suspended from riding up to and including next Saturday.

Their suspensions were imposed at Pukekohe on Saturday. They will miss meetings at Ellerslie on Thursday and Te Rapa at the week-end. The judicial committee of the Franklin Racing Club found Harrison, the rider of Petersburg in the Castlemaine Handicap, ’ had crossed too quickly after the start and forced Triple Veloce inwards. Triple Veloce crowded Orangeade, and Novashasa and Cologne were also inconvenienced.

Cate was suspended after an inquiry carried over from the Avondale Jockey Club’s meeting last Tuesday. The rider of Autumn March in the Caulfield Improvers’, Cate was found to have allowed his mount to run out sharply, under the whip, on the home turn.

Tiger Royal suffered interference as a result
