Legend in mural

The Creation according to Maori legend has been depicted in a carved mural in the foyer of the new Maori Affairs Department building in Christchurch. A photograph of the mural in “The Press” of October 31 was incorrectly described as representing the Canterbury Plains. The offices were opened in a special ceremony by the former Minister of Maori Affairs, Mr Ben Couch, on October 28.
