The remainder of the time could be spent working at home. The position would suit a lawyer interested in a six month consultancy or secondment in a developing country. Reporting to the Principal Legal Officer the Lawyer will undertake a review of the Post and Telecommunications' existing legislation and further legislative requirements, including regulations and by laws, with a view to subsequently drafting legislation. This will cover all areas of the operation including: technical communications areas, postal services, administrative matters, staffing, and finance. In a number of cases it will be necessary to carry out research from scratch. I Applicants must be lawyers who have carried out legislative drafting and who have at least seven years legal experience. Some telecommunication and/or postal experience would be desirable. The remuneration will be based upon the above annual figure. This figure comprises a salary plus gratuity, included in the above figure, of 24% of salary which is taxed at 2%. In addition the following will be provided: accommodation, a daily contribution to living expenses when accommodated in a hotel in Papua New Guinea, a car. air fares, and a pro rata payment in lieu of three weeks recreation leave at the end of the contract.
