The Corporation is now seeking a Lawyer for a six month period > to assist in legislative drafting. The position is located in Port Moresby, which has excellent social and sporting facilities, where it is envisaged the person will spend some time. The remainder of the time could be spent working at home. The position would suit a lawyer interested in a six month consultancy or secondment in a developing country. Reporting to the Principal Legal Officer the Lawyer will undertake a review of the Post and Telecommunications' existing legislation and further legislative requirements, including regulations and by laws, with a view to subsequently drafting legislation. This will cover all areas of the operation including: technical communications areas, postal services, administrative matters, staffing, and finance. In a number of cases it will be necessary to carry out research from scratch. I Applicants must be lawyers who have carried out legislative drafting and who have at least seven years legal experience. Some telecommunication and/or postal experience would be desirable. The remuneration will be based upon the above annual figure. This figure comprises a salary plus gratuity, included in the above figure, of 24% of salary which is taxed at 2%. In addition the following will be provided: accommodation, a daily contribution to living expenses when accommodated in a hotel in Papua New Guinea, a car. air fares, and a pro rata payment in lieu of three weeks recreation leave at the end of the contract.
