Promotion and sale

In keeping with its “We Do It Best” policy, D.I.C. is holding its biggest promotion show and sale of furniture and appliances at the Winter Garden, 195 Armagh Street, until Sunday. The show will give the public the opportunity to inspect the wares of 14 supplies today and tomorrow between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.; and on Sunday, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Although Canterbury holds a big furniture show each May, this D.I.C. promotional show will also give the public the opportunity to buy — with everything on display also being for sale. The show is also designed to bring the best deals to the public of Christchurch, and experienced staff will always be at hand to. answer all inquiries. Instant trade-in valuations can also be done.

A nominal admission charge of 20c will be made, with proceeds going to the Lions Club. A new National 450 video is being specially air freighted from Japan for display at the DIC furniture and appliances show. Also being featured is a OP6O JVC hi-fi system. Priced at $3495, it is available at $5O deposit. Audio and visual products from all the major manufacturers, including Philips, JVC, National, Pye and NEC, will be on display at the show.

This will be the last chance to buy these appliances before the Budget at pre-devaluation prices, with 12 months’ free credit.
