Fog disrupts travel
Fog at Christchurch Airport yesterday morning forced the cancellation of two Air New Zealand flights, disrupting the travel plans of 265 people. Flight 563 which was to have arrived in Christchurch from Wellington at 7.45 a.m. was cancelled as was Flight 418 which was to have left Christchurch. for Wellington at 8.15 a.m. The 265 passengers booked on the cancelled flights were rebooked later in the day. Flight 643 to Dunedin was delayed 18 minutes, Flight 502 to Auckland was delayed 25 minutes, and Flight 414 to Wellington was delayed 19 minutes.
The Weather Office reported yesterday afternoon that further low cloud and fog were expected overnight.
