Suttle Knight has virus
PA Palmerston North The Woodville stayer Suttle Knight has been struck by a virus in Australia and will not now start in the Melbourne Cup. His trainer John Harris said yesterday that the virus hit Suttle Knight soon after he made his Australian debut in the Herbert Power Handicap on October 13.
“I’ve left him with Ken Rogerson, and he reports that Suttle Knight is picking up again,” said Harris. ”1 will probably run him in the Sandown Cup, a week after the Melbourne Cup, but there are plenty of other races available for him.”
All along, Suttle Knight has been aimed for the Perth Cup, and if all goes well, the horse will travel directly there after racing in Victoria.
