Daylight saving poll
Daylight saving has been the subject of constant controversy since it was introduced in New Zealand in 1974. How New Zealanders feel about it now, 10 years after its introduction, will be established on Friday night when “Eyewitness News” carries the result of
a special poll it has commissioned. As a result of the small Northland town of Ararua separating itself from the national move to summer time last week-end, “Eyewitness News” asked Heylen to question a crosssection of New Zealanders
on the subject. The poll was conducted last Saturday and on TV2 at 9.30 p.m. tomorrow “Eyewitness News” will reveal whether the people of Ararua have wide support or whether they are only a few voices in the face of general acceptance.
