Miller keeps slender lead
PA New Plymouth The Aucklander, Graeme Miller, continues to hold a slender lead over Morrinsville’s Jack Swart, of Morrinsville, at the end of stage six of the Dulux seven-day cycle race.. He is 16 sec ahead, but yesterday’s honours went to Japan’s Toshimi Sato. The tiny Japanese put in a gutsy effort in the hot, humid conditions to win the gruelling Otorohanga-New Plymouth stage. He went away froin his fellow break-rider, Blair Cox (Eltham) at Urenui, about 30km from the stage finish, when Cox punctured.
From then on he was on his own.

was the first to go, quickly followed by Sato. Cox was first over Mount Messenger, about 30sec clear of Sato, with the bunch a further 42sec back.
