Niki Lauda to drive Ralt RT4

Niki Lauda, this year’s world champion racing driver, will handle one'of Greg Siddle’s Ralt RT4s in the Australian Grand Prix at Calder International Raceway, Melbourne, on November 18. \ The other Siddle Ralt will be driven by the Brazilian, Roberto Moreno, who raced

in the New Zealand Formula Pacific international series a few years ago and may do so again this year. Last year’s world champion, Keke Rosberg, will also start at Calder. He will drive a Ralt RT4 entered by Graham Watson, Australia’s Ralt importer. Watson’s second car will

be driven by the current Australian Gold Star champion, John Bowe. It had been hoped that Formula 1 stars, Alain Prost and Nelson Piquet, would also race at Calder, but they have other commitments. It is possible that the French Renault driver.

Patrick Tambay, may start in the race. The former world champion, Alan Jones, who has generally contested the Australian Grand Prix since his retirement from Formula 1, is now living in Queensland and has not raced a great deal this year. He is giving Calder a miss this time.
