Mr George Ashbridge
PA Auckland A former long-serving secretary of the New Zealand Educational Institute, Mr George Ashbridge, has died. He was 83. Mr Ashbridge, of Rotorua, held the post for 32 years until his retirement in 1965, developing the institute into a important negotiating and
consultative force in education. He served on various international educational organisations, including the national commission of U.N.E.S.C.O. He was awarded the M.B.E. and was a Justice of the Peace. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
