Colywat and Mair merger
The tallow interests of Mair and Company, of Christchurch, and Colyer Watson and Company, Ltd, have been merged, the directors of Colyer Watson announced. Mr Liam Gillespie has been appointed manager of the tallow operations. The directors also announced Mr J. D. Edwards has been elected group managing director. Other board appointments were: Mr J. D. Edwards, Mr A. D. Shadwell (chairman) and Sir Allan Wright, all representing Mair and Company, Mr K.E.F. Grenney, and Mr C. J. Smit, both representing Astley Holdings Ltd. Mr A. H. Avis and Mr C. R. Pearce continue as directors. Directors resigning were: Mr J. P. Hawksfield, Mr R. D. Somervaille, Mr J. B. Stevenson, Mr R. J. Strong and Mr D. A. Wright.
