Space weapons in Soviet slogans
NZPA-Reuter Moscow Calls for a ban on space weapons and a withdrawal of United States forces from Grenada have updated the Soviet Union's list of official slogans for the coming year. A total of 63 slogans, ranging from such hardy perennials as “workers of the world unite” to the more specific “free Grenada from American occupation,” were published ahead of the annual November 7 anniversary of the Russian Revolution. The slogans will be read by a public orator over loudspeakers as the Politburo review the traditional military parade in Red Square. ; Many Soviet slogans, particularly on foreign policy, are long and involved. That on Latin America, including the reference to Grenada, also called for an “end to the aggressive actions of the United States of America against Nicaragua.” Washington and Moscow have been swapping charges that the other is unwilling to take part in talks on space weapons for the last three months.
