Economist, Mr Quigley on panel

PA Wellington The former National member of Parliament for Rangiora, Mr Derek Quigley, and a former Federation of Labour economist, Mr Alf Kirk, have joined a business economic advisory panel. The Hugo Strategic Planning Panel which advises companies on the economy and the environment for business plans and decisions announced the appointments yesterday. “Alf Kirk’s and Derek Quigley’s membership of the panel enhances its general blend of knowledge and experience, and enlarges the panel’s scope in the important direction of employee and Government relations — an integral part of the environment and of business plans and decisions,” the panel said. Other panel members include former Bank of New Zealand economist, Mr Len Bayliss, and a visiting professor in the economics department of Victoria University, Sir Frank Holmes.
